eHealth Summer Camps

WHAT: eHealth Summer Camps, which are run by the Faculty of Medicine at UBC and  supported by TELUS Health . This summer camp is for grades 10-12 students with an intrest in medical science.

WHY: You will be allowed to use equipment and do many simulations. This is great for students who have further plans to study science in post secondary.

WHEN: July 16– July 20 or July 23  – July 27, 2012 from 9:00 – 3:30

WHERE: This will be taking place on UBC campus this coming summer.

UBC Physics Summer Camp Volunteers

WHAT: This is a volunteer opportunity for grade 10-12 students with an interest in Astronomy and Physics. You will be a volunteer at the summer camp, in where you will be helping the camp leaders and teachers, setting up activities, and overall keeping a positive camp environment .

WHERE: On the UBC campus

WHY: It will give you work and volunteer experiance, while having fun and learning a lot.

Women And Engineering: UBC

WHAT: This is an opportunity for grade 8-12 girls who have an interest in engineering. This is a conference in which you will be involved in hands on activities, tours, AND GET A FREE LUNCH!

WHEN: April 26th from 8:30am- 3:00 pm

WHERE: This will take place on the Ubc campus at KAIS 2020/2030, 2332 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC

WHY: Its a great opportunity to learn more about engineering and GAIN EXPERIENCE. As well as the fact that you may possibly be going to UBC, and therefore get to know the campus better.

Stem Cell Talks

WHAT: This is a symposium for grade 11 and 12 students who have a passion for    biology! There will be Speakers throughout the day that will be talking about stem cell research and experiments.

WHEN: Friday, April 13th , 2012

WHERE: This will be held that the Blusson Spinal Cord Center

WHY: You will gain unforgettable information about stem cells, and will also gain a vast understanding of them and their biological processes!

 

U of Toronto: Engineering Summer Camp

WHAT: This is a  summer camp for grade 9-12 students that have a strong interest in Engineering. The camp offers many courses  that centralize about Artificial intelligence machine learning,  rocket science, senior engineering math, sensors and smart phone robotics, and many more. visit www.deepsummeracedemy.com for a full list of courses.

WHERE: This will take place at the U of T campus.

WHEN: It will take place from July 2 – July 27 . BUT registration is from March 1st untill April 27th

WHY: to gain insight on engineering and gan a VAST amount of useful  knowledge!

BCIT Open House

WHAT: There is a BCIT open house that will give students a great opportunity to learn more about BCIT and its programs.

WHEN: Takes place on April 13 and 14

WHERE: At the Burnaby BCIT campus

WHY: This will give you an opportunity to gain information on what you could possibly be doing in your post secondary days.

UBC Physics Olympics

WHAT: UBC will be holding a type of “Physics Olympics” in which students will compete for medals in 6 science events, and the school of the team with the highest overall score will receive a trophy and other awards.

WHERE: UBC campus in Vancouver at the Hennings (Physics) Building.

Child And Family Research Institute Open house

WHAT: This is an open house for students who are intersted in RESEARCH in many different forms.

WHY: You will be able to visit research labs and interact with researchers at the University of British Columbia

WHEN: This will take place on monday march the 5th from 9:00 am- 12:30pm

WHERE: At the UBC Vancouver campus

UBC Computer Science Workshops

WHAT: This is an opportunity for grade 8-12 students who wish to go into the field of computer science. There will be guest speakers from companys like Microsoft, pixar, google … and more! Aswell you will be involved in labs and discussion with the faculty leaders.

WHY: you will gain great information in the field of computer science and have fun while doing it.

Summer Science Immersion

WHAT: This is a camp for students who are interested in the science field. There are opportunities in which you can participate in  research experiments, and group activities.

WHEN: it will be a one month camp from July 1st untill August 11th. Registration begins on october 1st 2011.

WHERE: A camp in Ottawa

WHY: It is a great way for students to prepare for post-secondary studies, Explore career choices, and give insight into cutting edge research and development
